ONE: I don't really have any specific resolutions for the new year, they never seem to last... so I have some ideas on what I want to keep in mind this year...
1. Maintain a solid and loving relationship with my husband.
2. Drink more water.
3. Worry less about things I can't control.
TWO. I have been looking for some cute thank you cards to order and found these online... I love it when Tiny Prints has good discounts. 20% off until next week.
THREE. TL and I love to travel (if you've followed along you probably guessed that). We are planning on hopefully making a trip up to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver at some point this year. Maybe we will do all 3 in one trip. Have you visited these places? What do you recommend? Is taking the train in between each city convenient? Can you explore enough with out a car? It is so beautiful up there - we just want to wait until it warms up a lil!
FOUR. Andie is on the move! She started crawling before Christmas (army crawling) and it's incredible how fast she has gotten. Trying to figure out if we should put up baby gates (we have one set up, but she isn't a fan of being in there) or if it's best to let her loose. She is already pulling herself up on everything, too - she loves standing by her car. It's amazing to think how quickly the process of her growing up is going... I love seeing her little personality come out :)
FIVE.

I love that quote!
Gabe has been crawling for about 2 months now, and I, too, am amazed at how fast he's suddenly gotten! He's into EVERYTHING. :)
Happy New Year!
Oh I love a good army crawl! I've been to Vancouver but only for a few days before leaving on a cruise. But my half sister lives there and I totally want to go back and would love to include Portland and Seattle into the trip as well!
Here's my only Portland suggestion: if you love Thai food, you MUST vist Pok Pok. Other than that, train worked for us and we did a lot of walking!
Awww, a baby on the move! Happy New Year!
YAY for Seattle! Do come up here! I'll be your tour guide in Seattle! You can totally do it all via the train. And Vancouver is amazing! Send me an email and let me know when you are thinking of coming!
Andie is so cute!!! & one of my goals is to drink more water this year too!!
You can totally do those three cities in one trip! I have done it when I was little with my mom and dad. We drove from Portland to Seattle and then took the ferry over to Vancouver! It's a great little trip and not too much driving.
I love the Seattle area!!! It can be easily walked around in too if you go down by Pikes Place! If you plan on being there for a few days, I suggest getting a CityPass! You can go to the aquarium, Space Needle, Woodland Park Zoo, a cruise around the harbor, the Pacific Science Center and the EMP Museum, which I think is right by the Space Needle.
I've never been to Portland except driving through. I've never been to Vancouver too, unless you're talking about Washington, and if so, we just stopped by on our drive quickly. If you're talking about Canada, I don't think it's that far of a drive from Seattle, maybe about 4 hours or so? I've heard it's a fun city to visit. I would also recommend if you're not driving to fly and rent a car. Traveling by train with a little one might be a little difficult with all her belongings!
I love the area and can't wait to go back to Seattle!
Andie is too cute!
I love how smiley Andie is! She is just so precious! :-)
And I totally agree with you on NY resolutions!
My husband and I did a mega road trip this summer...starting in LA and traveling all the way to Seattle. Portand was one of my favorite stops! It is sooooo pretty up there! Some must sees would be Voodoo Donuts (it really is as good as everyone says), Multonoma Falls, and of course, all the food trucks. Also, McMenamins is a huge brewery company up there that has several bars throughout the city...the coolest one of all is the Kennedy School! Definitely check it out! As for Seattle, it's wonderful, too. I thought the Pike Place Market was so cool...we walked around there every single day we were there. Also, there is a really cool tour company called "Seattle Free Walking Tours" that is a pay what you feel walking tour...it's great and the tour guide was awesome! We enjoyed it so much that we decided to stay for his 2nd tour of the day. We also did the Underground tour because friends had raved about it, but we didn't enjoy it very much...I think it depends on if you get a funny tour guide or not. Seattle is very walking friendly, but I think a car is needed in Portland...just my 2 cents...Enjoy!
watch out momma...better get that baby proofing done!
We never used baby gates with Elyse except for the stairs at my in-laws house. We've always just been good about watching her. Also, a great piece of advice that I saw from somewhere: in every room you should have a drawer/shelf/basket etc that is baby friendly but still full of normal things for that space (tupperware in the kitchen, hand towels in the bathroom, etc.). That way when she follows you around it's not as if you're always just saying No!
Drinking more water is on my list as well!
Happy New Year to you, Tim and Andie! She is simply adorable and yep, batten down the hatches! Once they start movin'...watch out!
Obviously, I am a Seattle fan ♥ we love the drive from EG through Portland, Vancouver and then to Seattle! It is our hope to take the train one of these days as I hear it is fantastic!!!
In Seattle I would say the Space Needle (of course!), Pioneer Square has a lot of museums and historical sites (even a fire museum) and Pikes Place Market is fantastic. You could spend a good hour looking around :-) The pier is right there too as well as the aquarium which is great. If you have time you should take the ferry out to Bainbridge Island. It is such a quaint community and lovely to bike around. New to the pier is a beautiful ferris wheel; the views are incredible!!!
Look at me... rambling on!
Anyway, I'm sure it will be a lovely trip as the Pacific Northwest is simply beautiful :hearts;
P.S. We found the Underground tour fascinating! Oh, and 'the duck' tours are spoken highly of.
Her personality shines through more and more in photos now Tracy and she is the picture of her Daddy ~ so precious! xo
I am late to the game but I grew up in Portland! (and Washington). I have been to Seattle many times.. and Vancouver BC. Bar far my favorite places and would happily move back. Portland is a friendly by foot city and both Portland and Seattle have city transportation. Its about a 3ish hour drive from Seattle to Vancouver and that city is AMAZING. I have also done that all on foot or public transport. I recommend a summer trip to those cities so your aren't battling the rain too much but you don't have to worry about extreme heat!

Happy New Year! Andie is such a cutie! Isn't it crazy how fast time flies?? Hence the reason I have 3! LOL. I love the baby stage and it truly goes by too fast! We put up a gate to block the stairs just because she has started to get around the house very fast. I like to be able to turn my head and know that she will be okay. Other than that she roams free and is pretty good about not getting into too much trouble. We keep all her toys in the main living area so she always has stuff to play with at arms reach.
