5 on Friday

Linking up with one of my favorite bloggers, Natasha, from Hello Happiness and some other great gals!

1. I have had our birth story written out and ready to post now for a few days... but I haven't had the courage to post it.  Part of me is nervous that I share too much.  But then another part of me is thinking... oh, who cares?  It's not that big of a deal - if people don't like, they don't have to read, right?
{Andie's sponge bath at the hospital}

2. I have been obsessed with quotes for a very long time - and my obsession got worse with the invention of pinterest.  Sometimes I see quotes and I think, I need to plaster that on my wall to remind myself of these things.  I also sometimes think... I know someone that needs to read this!

3. I didn't have many cravings when I was pregnant.  The food aversions I had actually turned me on to healthier choices.  Not so much now.  It's crazy, since having her, I have had huge cravings - and not in a good way.  I love anything with sugar.  I have my check up with my doctor next week, so I am giving myself until then to splurge - but after next week, hopefully I can lace up my running shoes {i've been itching to get back into running since before I even got pregnant} and get back into good shape.  And hopefully kick out some of these "cravings".
{This was dinner last night.  At least it's better than most fast food, right?}

4. Along with number 3, I need to start trying some new recipes again.  I haven't cooked anything in a couple months.  Pinterest is always so tempting, but I need to bite the bullet and do it.  Any easy recommendations for something I have to try?

5. The weather in Northern California is changing... and a heat wave is coming.  I love the beautiful sunshine, but 100s is just not appealing to me.  But, Andie has some pretty cute swimsuits and my parents have a shady pool - so maybe we will have to make the most of it.
{How cute is this little number?}

On a separate note... does anyone know how to embed pictures from pinterest on your blog?  It's driving me crazy that it doesn't work anymore like it used to!!

Happy Friday... have a wonderful weekend!

That bathing suit is adorable. And go ahead and splurge for a while longer. You are breast feeding so you need to eat more than normal!! :)

Sweetie, remember that it's YOUR blog, so if YOU want to share your birth story, then you do it!!

You look fabulous in all your photos and you're a new Mommy, a little sugar won't harm you :)

Have a wonderful week-end!! XX

one of my good friends gave me some great advice in regards to baby weight...you know it took you 9 months to put it on, give yourself 9 months to take it off!

this was my goal and since it was reasonable, it didn't seem so daunting! Good luck!

The Vintage Apple has a tutorial on how to embed the pins
http://www.thevintageapple.com/2013/04/how-to-pinterest-embedding-tutorial.html

I'm not a huge fan of the new format as it shows the whole pin and not just the picture, but I'm not sure if there is another way to do it!

Share her birth story! If someone doesn't want to read it, they don't have to :)

Please share your birth story! The miracle of life is a wonderful thing but women should be honest how this miracle comes into the world. Every story is different. =)

I always craved more while breastfeeding than while pregnant. You're burning a ton of calories, eat up girl and enjoy!

If you start running you'll need to eat even more to produce milk especially since you're so small to begin with.

Post the birth story as is. Don't edit it at all! It'll help people like me, who are ready to pop :)

Share the birth story! I love blogs that talk about real experiences - your story will resonate with people and if it doesn't, they can stop reading.

Share the birth story! Anyone reading it has to have some idea of what to expect--unless they've never taken human anatomy!

Also, are you BFing? If so don't worry too much about how much you're eating etc., it's when you stop BFing that it gets hard again!

While breast feeding, I have craved lots of naughty foods-doughnuts, cookies, ice cream;) My husband thinks I've gone off the deep end! ;)

I didn't really edit out the gory details of my birth story and I'm glad I didn't! If people don't want to read it they don't have to!

You should definitely post your birth story! As a momma to be, I love reading other moms birth stories because I feel like they are so beautiful and make me excited for the experience.

It took me forever to figure out! If you go through the "Share" steps on Pinterest, when you go to put it on your blog, make sure you switch to "HTML" on the top left corner of the page where you're composing your post, and paste it there, then you can switch back to add more text. (I hope that makes sense.)
