Copenhagen By Boat

Before visiting, I had no idea how many canals and waterways fill the city of Copenhagen.  The bridges are very low, and the boat drivers drive under them with barely and inch or two to spare.

It was funny because as we were approaching a low bridge, the lady said over the speaker "please duck your head" - and she wasn't kidding!!

Many residents live right on the canals - you can easily swim in them because the water is clean.
The Opera House is easily accessed by boat!

We had just come from under that bridge... so low!

The last picture is one of my favorites... that is the boat driver getting in his "ducked" position so we could get under that bridge.  Isn't that crazy!?  It was such a neat experience!

Wow that really is a low clearance! Good thing it didn't rain a couple of extra inches the week before!

So beautiful! We have some friends that live there now and I'd love to go before we move back to the States but I don't think we'll get the chance! :(
