I wish I had a sense...

of fashion. I want to be able to just pick out outfits like these, please.
I wish I had a stylist, too.  Someone to shop for me and help me find clothes that fit my body type.

Sometimes, looking at Pinterest makes me realize how terrible I am at dressing myself and making creative outfits.

I often wear the same things over and over.  I need a closet make over.  I need to be reintroduced to stuff I already have that I need to put together.

Who's coming over to help me? ;)
Casual, simple, and so pretty!  Now... what shoes?
I love the blazers... just need to figure out how to wear them.  This is one of my favorite looks.
The long skirt may not be cute on my short frame, but adorable on her!  I like the mixing of black and brown.
Kelly Ripa always looks amazing, love the strips... and the color combination is fab!

My mom took me to see a gal who does your "colors".  She gave me lots of great make up help and ideas for what color blush, eye shadow, ect to wear at work.  She picked out some lipsticks that I would have never chosen, but actually like.  Fortunately for my lack of ability, I only work part time at the job that requires me to wear lots of make up.  I just don't have the patience to do my make up in so much detail every morning.  I've never been good at make up & I don't really enjoy doing it.

She also looks at your body type and gives you ideas on how to dress.  She told me shorter blazers, high wasted pants & skirts, and high heels would fit my body frame best.  (I am just barely over 5 feet tall)  Now, where and how do I find these things in my size?

Oh, if I could find everything with H&M prices, that would be great, too ;)
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
TL and I are off for another quick adventure tonight...

i love Pinterest for the inspiration, but i'm with you in finding it so hard to dress how i'm pinning! I just don't have the time or the money to wear half the stuff i like! LOL

Ha! I feel this exact same way! My job doesn't require me to dress up, so my closet is mostly full of jeans and T's. I would like to dress cuter, but I have no idea where to start! If you find that stylist, give them my name! :) Enjoy your weekend.

pinterest is so great for inspiration. maybe pick someone you want to dress like, say Lauren Conrad, go to the store and pull something you think she'd wear. Then add your own touch. fabulous post, love. thanks for sharing. if you get a sec, I'd love to hear what you think of my Shoemint photo shoot. xo

You're kooky lady! You are so well put together, and classically fashion forward. Pinterest is fun for inspiration, but don't go changin'... I love your style.

ok for pants, try loft, the limited, and ny and company--they have good pieces, and good prices. for other more "splurge-worthy" (i.e. staples you'll have for a long time) pieces, i love jcrew, modcloth, anthropologie, dillards, and nordstrom

You have wonderful fashion! A lot better than mine! And I would love to help you find some new clothes and redo your closet. Ask your hubby what the spending limit is, and I'll see you in an hour! hehe

Hello! I totally wish that I was sticking around the area, as I would totally offer to help you out! I love styling other people!

I do hear you on not knowing your style - it took me several years to figure out what looked good on my body type, as I have a somewhat unusual figure. :-) But when you do figure it out and know what to look for, it makes shopping that much easier!

My advice - H&M does have some great basics right now, like blazers (blazers are super in for spring) and skirts. A lot of their bottoms are high-waisted as well right now. Forever21 also has great prices on things that you're looking for, you may just have to hunt. You might start there and buy a few things to see how you're comfortable in them. That way you don't break the bank if you end up not really liking those styles. But if you find out you really like blazers, for example, then invest in a one or two really nice ones from JCrew or Banana Republic that'll last you forever. :-)

When shopping, grab a TON of things to try on. Who cares if you have 20 items to try on - it ups your chances of finding something you like. Try on different styles of blazers and skirts, several sizes/styles of pants, lots of tops....and be honest with yourself when trying them on. If you don't love it right away, it's not for you. Don't talk yourself into anything, you'll never end up wearing it. :-)

Yeah, I'm short just like you and have clothes issues! I can look as amazing in some of the trends because they don't look as good on my small frame. I've learned patterns are too overpowering for me, and some big accessories just don't work. One thing I learned about my body type is do anything to make me look taller and slimmer. Short people need vertical lines to do that. You're skinnier than me so don't ever look fat...You can get vertical lines in more ways than just stripes. For example, a v neck or heart shaped is a vertical line for short people. Pleats are also vertical lines that draw your eyes up and down rather than side to side. Also straps on dresses or shirts rather than strapless gives vertical lines.

I think you always look absolutely adorable! You have a classy, chic, great fashion sense, friend! I totally feel you though about seeing things on pinterest and thinking "Ooh! That's cool! I would have never put that together!" I'm horrible with mixing patterns to look different. Solids are my friend. ha!

I don't like shopping anymore because I have a hard time picking things out that might look good and stuff. Buuut I finally had a positive shopping experience at Forever 21. I got a couple skirts and tops that can be mix and matched and I'm excited to wear them! That's awesome you got some help with makeup! What job requires you to wear a lot?

haha I feel the same way when I am on Pintrest! I am a huge fan of Zara but sadly there is none in Seattle (they do free shipping though!)

I'll help!! I love love love shopping!! Now that you know the pieces that will fit your body type, just use pinterest as inspiration. Take any of the pics and recreate it. If you do that long enough you can start developing your own style based on what you like...

Girl, you're doing better than me! I can figure out outfits, the bad part is that they never fit my body type... I only wish they would! lol

i just started wearing blazers and I love them!! I like wearing them over dresses with tights/leggings and boots. You would look great in a blazer! I also wish I could wear long skirts but my legs are too short! I always find good deals at old navy and target.

You always look so cute! I totally struggle with this as well. If only I had an endless amount of cash for a clothing budget. I'm in need of help too. I'd love information about who your mom took you too for your colors, I need help there too. I'm a mess. I tell my mom sometimes that I was never meant to be a girl, I suck at fashion, makeup and hair. hahaha.
