TL is a firefighter/paramedic at a local fire department. It's actually a family affair... my dad, brother in law, 3 uncles, & cousin are all firefighters for the same department. (My dad retired 2 years ago!)
Being a firefighter means you're away from your family and with your "fire" family for 1/3 of the year, even for holidays, weekends, and overnight. The guys (& some gals) get pretty close.
Recently, one of the guys was diagnosed with cancer. His name is Mike and he is married and has two beautiful little girls. He recently finished up his first round of chemo and lost all of his hair.
In support of their fellow firefighter, the guys organized "Razors for Reddell". They raised money and shaved their heads!
I wasn't able to attend (I've been a little under the weather) but my sister and nephew went and she gave me the photos. I wish I could have been there!

My nephew, Ryan, supporting his dad!
They had a great turn out!
My bro in law
My Uncle Steve
TL in the process
TL and my bro in law, Jason - all shaved!
Family - cousins Scott & Joel, Uncle Steve, bro in law, & Uncle Bryan. {TL had left because he got a call}
We are thinking all good thoughts for Mike and his family! He has the support of an entire community behind him :)

I know first hand how close the fire family gets as Trev is a volunteer f/f here where we live. We love them all and have a blast together! I will be keeping Mike and his family in my thoughts and prayers Tracy ~ and the entire fire family. xo
