I love Mrs. Monolouges and her sarcastic, funny, and sometimes wild look at life. I am not certain, but I think we live fairly close to each other (IRL) and we've been buddies through the blogs and twitter for a while.
Recently, she did a post that made me laugh out loud. It was all about blogs and their writers - and what type of writer they are. I first fell into the "fluff" category, but then it was changed to "general".
As much as I would love to fall in the photography, fashion, cooking ect... blogs, I don't. I don't really have a talent for anything super blog worthy, but I do try.
But, I love seeing all of those blogs out there with the fantastic pictures and recipes! Many of them have inspired me to try. And even though I may not be great at it, I love doing it :)
If you are new to reading "Then I Got To Thinking..." thank you so much. I love hearing from people that they have read my blog before. I spend too much a lot of time writing and reading, and it makes me feel so special that people actually read! If you have commented in the past and I didn't get back to you, I apologize, sometimes I miss things.

I'm with you! just a general blogger a little cooking, a little decorating, and I do a little entertaining. There is nothing I'm super great at. I just do a little of it all!!!

Then the other (http://adventurewithmelanoma.blogspot.com) tells the story of my battle against melanoma. Anything to promote awareness, right?

I have no idea - even after reading her blogpost - what a fluffy blogger is. Maybe I am one!! She seems to be quite clear that fluffy is not good!!
I don't really care....I think we are all made up of lots of different parts & so it's fine to write about lots of different things.
I read many different types of blogs - I love decor blogs where people really know what they are talking about for example.
The only ones that I really have no time for are the smartass/bitchy blogs where it's all about laughing at others. And I don't read "mommy blogs" either - they can be a little smug!
I guess I just really don't like to pigeonhole people or be pigeonholed :)
To me, "fluffy" is not complimentary - I would never call your blog that. As I am sure your many followers wouldn't do :) X

I think I'm totally a general blogger, too... I work with a team of social network gurus and they have very targeted goals with their social media, including twitter and blogs, but I'm just all over the place.. Food, fashion, makeup, friends, photos... Yeah... :) I'm cool with that. :)
Yay for general bloggers! It's nice having a little bit of everything to blog about. I live relatively close (I think) to Mrs. Monologues so we might not be terribly far away??

I like to think I'm a general blogger...but sometimes I feel like anyone with a baby gets lumped into the mommy blogger category.

Blogs that arent fully niched are great reads because to the reader you never know what you are going to get. it also allows you to stay true to yourself, which is just plain cool.
I'm right there with you. I just blog about whatever tickles my fancy that day and I wonder how it could ever be of interest to others. But then I remember the millions of blogs I read. :) It's just fun to "know" all of these wonderful women across the country.
