Do you ever look at a photograph and get an overwhelmed with emotion. It's happened to me with two pictures recently, and both times, I was nearly in tears... just looking at a picture. {swear I'm not crazy, or maybe I am.}
This is my cousin Matt. He is no ordinary college graduate. He's a Harvard grad. And by Harvard grad, I don't mean he did his time, studied, and survived. I mean he excelled, involved himself all over campus {newspaper, theatre, crew, and about 400 other things}, made hundreds of friends, and developed a true name for himself. While he was there, he travelled to China, Europe, Mexico - and to Africa, where he assisted doctors in performing crucial eye surgeries. He moved down to Los Angeles for a summer where he edited movie scripts, and lived in NYC another summer working behind the scenes at MTV. He's truly dipped his feet in every opportunity possible and took advantage of the cards dealt to him.
I am so overwhelmed by everything he does, and while doing it, he is one of the most grounded, sweet people you would ever know. He is brilliant beyond words, hands down the smartest person I will probably ever know, and yet he never acts 'above you'.
I am just so damn proud of him. Not just for his ability, but his courage to really get the most out of life. He's inspiring. I know he is destined to do great things with his life because he works hard & makes things happen for himself. And he would tell you, just as he tells everyone, he's thankful for parents who would go to the end of the earth to help him succeed. My aunt & uncle are working so hard to get him and his two siblings through college. They are selfless people.
Last I checked, he was planning on attending medical school. And going to India. Love you, buddy. Congratulations.
When I think about how I was feeling at that moment when I saw him, it just fills my heart with warmth. I remember seeing his face and just feeling overwhelmed, in a good way. It was absolutely the best day of my life. I feel so blessed to have my amazing husband, and to me, this day represents our decision to be together. The best decision i've ever made. I've had this picture saved on my desktop for a few weeks and when I open it and see the expression on his face, it sends a little chill all over my body.
I've heard a lot of times that people don't appreciate what they have until it's gone... and I want to know whatever ruler or god who is keeping track of that to know - I appreciate him so much and I hope there is never a day when I take what I have for granted.
Do you have any pictures that fill you with emotion when you see them?

oh I love the one of your husband. :)
Awwww, I love this post! How awesome is your cousin?!?! WOW!
Love both pics....pictures truly can take us back to a moment can't they?
I need to go get a towel to wipe away the teardrops on my computer (hopefully it will still work enough for me to comment).
Not only are these two men incredible beyond words, YOU are an incredible writer... YOUR ability to put emotion INTO the words you write is truly a gift. Thank you for sharing these pictures. Matt is a person you meet once in a lifetime and Tim is absolutely 100% your perfect match. Love you sis...

Wow, beautifully said. You can see the emotion in both of the photos so well; pride and a sense of accomplishment in the first, and overwhelming love in the second.
Enjoy your weekend!
You are quite the lucky gal to have two such amazing men in your life!
Aww what a great post!
This is so sweet! I always try to remember to be grateful for what I have too. I don't want to take anything for granted!

Such a beautiful post. I definitely have pictures that made me stop and reflect, or stop and appreciate, or stop and miss the person in the picture. I think that is part of the beauty of photography-the ability to capture a moment and all of the emotion that is charged in that moment
Oh my gosh, the post of your husband gave ME chills! Looking at the groom's face is always my favorite part of a wedding!

Congrats to your cousin! I know what you mean about your heart just wanting to cry, it makes me want to cry reading about your cousin! I love people who succeed so well but yet still think they are the same as others :)
Awe, such a sweet post! That is amazing what your cousin has been able to do! Congratulations to him!
What a beautiful post. First of all, your cousin certainly accomplished a lot and love the picture of your hubby - it's so sweet seeing the expression of love for you in his face and eyes. :)
I have several pictures that give me a lot of emotion. The ones I hold the most dear are right by my bed. :)
Um, wow to your cousin.
AWWWWWE. so sweet. and yes, of course from the day I married my elementary school sweetheart, and one that comes to mind:
my little sister with her newborn in a bubblebath and the tattoo on her arm... such a great mix of tough and sweet. has always been a favorite.
Aw, presh. Reminds me of the first time I met morgs, so down to earth and interested in getting to know others. Didn't find out that she was part of this local big time family until later.
Would also later meet Erica at Kabs Tumbling... just assumed the Zehnders always had it easy, and have always been envious. What do Matt's parents do? You know, Harvard still has his picture on their admissions site too. They must be so proud of him and Erica and Trev.
Please don't forget to add the family tag to posts like these! So comforting to hear.
