Our next stop after Munich was Vienna. We took a beautiful 4.5 hour train ride and landed in one of my favorite cities :)
Vienna is known for its desserts, cafes, and incredible palaces. Well, at least that's what it's known to me as ;)
We stayed at the Le Meridien Vienna and it was lovely. It was in a fabulous location right on the "Ringstrasse" or ring road that encircles the city. There are pedestrian only walkways and some of the most beautiful architecture I've ever seen. I fell in love with this city.
Walking through the pedestrian only areas - it was chilly! (but, no rain!)
In front of Hofburg Palace
The back (or maybe front) of Hofburg Palace. Hitler used to address crowds there, it was eerie to see. Tim has a goof look on his face.
My love & I
The Weiner Reisenrod! It was one of the first ferris wheels built - made in 1897. It's not huge, but it has a lot of history. It was badly damaged in WW2, and rebuilt. It was really amazing to see it and ride it!
This is Demel. One of the most amazing little dessert shops/cafes I have ever seen. It's in its original spot from when it was built in 1786!
We visited Schonbrunn Zoo at the Schonbrunn Palace. It's the oldest Zoo in the world!
It was warm and sunny - and the beer was delicious! :)
My favorite: the giraffes.
The Zoo had a huge suspension bridge that showed off amazing views of Vienna!
Me and my guy overlooking Schonbrunn Palace - it was worth the little hike. This was the birth place of Marie Antoinette.
My handsome guy ;)
The best desserts on the planet. Yum.
Vienna wasn't originally a top destination for me, but TL mentioned he wanted to see it - so we did. I am so glad we went. It was one of my top 3 favorite places of the trip, and we would love to go back someday!

Oh my gosh so fun! I've always wanted to go to Vienna, it just looks stunning! Can't wait to see your next stop. Can I take a guess? I'm going to say Venice!
Tracy, I am so excited for all these gorgeous pictures! I think Europe is so fascinating since there is just so much living history there -- it must have been pretty surreal to be somewhere that Hitler used to speak (I probably would have had major chills the whole time).
That food looks AMAZING. Also, you are gorgeous and that hat is adorable! You and Tim are such a gorgeous couple :)
Thanks again for all your sweet words to me - I know I emailed you, but I really appreciated it so very much, my friend.
What a gorgeous city! So jealous of your European adventures! :)
Schonbrunn palace was so beautiful! Second largest to Versailles I believe. Did you go to Prater? Their amusement park on the pier. It was one of our favorite parts of the trip to Vienna!
Your blog is terrible for my "to travel" destination list! I never would have thought to have Vienna on a list, but it is there now!

Traveling to all those fabulous places with a 2 year old would not be so fun. I hope to one day show and share the world with her. I am glad that I can travel with your blog with my glass of wine at night!!

Are those train cars on the ferris wheel? I do bet seeing the place Hitler addressed crowds was strange; it gave me chills just to think about.
And that desert...Yes please! :)
