Work & Weekend

Woo hoo!  It's Friday.  I had a great first week of work!

As I mentioned earlier, I recently just got a new job.  I am doing something that is a little different than what I went to school for.  I was hired by a non profit organization in our town.  It was started by a fabulous hard working woman who has a passion for two things: volunteering & kids.

The organization has this mission: to grow the next generation of socially responsible citizens by engaging youth in community outreach.

I am really excited to learn so much about our community and develop relationships with kids & adults who love being a part of it.  My boss (the founder) is absolutely adorable & so much fun to work with.  I was hired to help her strengthen the organization.  I just got my own little office, and as I mentioned, that makes me really happy!

It was a busy week of meetings, introductions, setting up & getting acquainted.  We work really closely with the small businesses (cafes, restaurants) in our town, so we got to visit a lot of those & have our meetings there!

And today - TL came in and helped me do a little more set up in my office!!  He's excited for me, too, and that always makes things more fun!

I am sure I will be sharing a lot of what we do on here in the future. :)

We have a busy weekend coming up!  I have my Jr League Crab Feed tomorrow night, my 10K race Sunday morning, and our super bowl party on Sunday.  I am so excited to have a full house of family & friends :)

Hope you have a great weekend.  And if you're covered in snow, stay safe & warm!!

{love this}
