I'm too young to be going through this.
I think it's something most of us have said to ourselves at one point or another during our lives. Whether it's the loss of someone close to our hearts, a tragedy, a sickness, or something we aren't sure we can handle.
A good friend of my sister, Laurel, is saying this right now.
Her husband, Patrick, was recently diagnosed with cancer. They will be married for 5 years this July. They have two small children - a 2 year old and a 6 month old.
Laurel is doing every thing she can to be there for her husband. She is also learning how to deal with the challenging journey of taking care of her kids & explaining to them why Patrick is going to be gone for a while when he is in surgery.
I know the power of this blogging community. I've experienced it. We encourage, pray and support each other.
Recently, Laurel started a blog to write about their journey.
If you have a moment, stop by her page. Send her encouraging thoughts & prayers - and tell her about what you have gone through as well.
Her blog is 2 Young 4 This Journey. She is a great writer (she was a teacher before she had kids) and a wonderful woman.

Hi Tracy,
I'm new to the blogging world but wanted to let you know that my father was diagnosed 10 years ago with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and he's still alive and fighting today. There are so many treatment options and if one doesn't work, there are always others to try. Tell him to keep a fighting spirit and he will get through it. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
xx
I can certainly relate. My kids are the same age as hers. My husband doesn't have cancer (not that we know of) but has been going from medical test to medical test for the past few months. We're hoping to get a real answer soon. he had a biopsy today. Good for you for getting this out there for her. Praying for her family and yours.
prayers.
