For our friend Kristin's Birthday, she wanted to go wine tasting. TL and I were all for it :) We spend a lot of time with her and her husband (TL and her husband are best friends), so it was a fun getaway for us (away from our normal restaurants and houses).
She decided on Amador County. It's only a short drive (less than a half an hour) from our house (we really should go there more often) and it was all of our first time going there!
We made it to 6 wineries and stopped in the middle for a picnic lunch and some bocci ball. The wineries are all pretty close together so it was easy to go to several. It was a really fun day!

If you are ever looking for a good place to taste - Amador County is awesome.
Tastings are free, the people are friendly - and it's usually great weather.
AND... thank you for all of your sweet comments on my last post regarding Andrew. Our situation with him was such a gift to us and put everything into perspective. We still haven't found him... but we've got our eye out.

amador county wine tasting...done it and LOVED it! but then i love anything that involves wine.

How funny that we know the same people! I've known TL's best friend since elementary school, and Kristin and I have a lot of mutual friends. Small world!
What a fun thing to do for your birthday! I always love reading about stuff like this on your posts b/c your area of the country is SO different than mine. We have wineries, but well.. they're exactly what you'd think of when you think of an OKLA winery.. haha.. :) You look adorable per usual, girlie! And random, but why on earth is there a large weiner dog statue there?! ha!
I LOVE wine tasting in Amador, it's the best!
Next time you're in town, check out the new Amador 360 Wine & Visitor Center. They have awesome wines made from Amador County grapes that you won't find in any of the tasting rooms. They also have an online store of all Amador wines if you can't make it to the region.

That looks SO fun! Why can't I live somewhere cool like this? Years ago when my family spent the week in Oregon and we stopped at a few wineries and I didn’t want to leave because of them. You would always have something to do. “Honey, what should we do this lovely Saturday afternoon?”, “Let’s go wine tasting!”, “DONE!”

Hi Tracy! I just came across your blog the other day. My Google Reader recommended I might like it and I was right. I went back and have read from the beginning on my breaks at work and while I have thought you were nothing but sweet and wonderful the entire time, this is the first post that has incited me to comment. You and TL are GREAT people. Most of us wouldn't have done that - helped a stranger out in a parking lot at night. You always rave on and on about what a great guy he is and you are right! And you're obviously a fabulous girl or else he wouldn't have chosen you! Can't wait to continue reading more about you and yours!
