I love this time of year - the chilly weather, scarfs, dark nights, cooking, Christmas lights, and spending time with family - some of which I only get to see during the holidays.
I'm really thankful this year - for so many reasons.
As I get older, I find myself trying to take more and more moments to look around and appreciate everyone who loves, supports, and encourages me. I'm thankful for my health and the health of my family and friends.
The years seem to get shorter and shorter as they go by - and I really don't want to take anything for granted.
I'm so excited for our family traditions, getting our Christmas tree, spending time with TL's & my family and just enjoying life.
What are your favorite things about this time of year?
For me: it's the weather, ornaments, the 100+ year old angel at the top of my parents tree, lights, scarfs, bows, rain boots, decorations, good food, leftovers, and just the feeling of the holidays.
I hope you've had a good start to your week!

I love traditions! That's definitely one of my favorite things about this time of year. I hear ya about the years seemingly getting shorter!
Everything. I can't pick just one thing about this time of year. I'm putting up my tree and decorations tomorrow! I know it's early, but it's my last Christmas here where I'm living and going to school so I want to enjoy every second of it... and make last as long as possible. I love the snow, the chill in the air, the tastes, the lights, the miracles, the Christmas music... oh I am in love with this time of year!
I love all the same things you love, except that the old topper for my parents' Christmas tree is an old starfish, and I am so attached to it! My dad grew up on a little island in Florida right off Tarpon Springs, which is where the starfish came from. I loooove it and it's one of the very few things I hope to inherit one day.
i'm so excited for the holidays!! i cant wait for the winter smells!
Wow...I can't believe how many people are already getting into the spirit! I'm usually kind of scroogy, but this year, I don't know, I suspect I'll feel like the loser kid in school if I don't jump on board!
I am completely in the mood for the holidays!! I can't wait!!! Traditions and family are the best.
My favorite parts are seeing good friends, family, and eating lots and lots of food!! The holidays are a chance for us to catch up with everyone we haven't been able to see throughout the year.
I am right there with ya! I am really enjoying the weather and the time change. I can't believe it's almost Christmas! Hope your having a great week!
this post just made my day... this time of year is so much fun for so many reasons--yummy food, time with family, christmas decorating, homemade hot cocoa with my mom, black friday shopping each year, adopting an angel from the tree to spoil with presents, driving around looking at lights... my list could go on and on!!
This time of the year is always the best. Seeing family and old friends and food food food. This time of the year is always filled with lots of love and laughter. Have a great week sweetie!
I agree about getting older and realizing who and what matters in your life, etc... :) And I love the weather, etc, but my absolute FAVORITE are the lights. I LOVE Christmas lights. They just feel so magical and make me feel warm. I used to love visiting Chicago (but not the ex who lived there..haha) during the holidays b/c the city was just alive with holiday decor and lights! :)
YES there is such a thing as the ¨feeling of the holidays¨!!! I love it....you can feel it with all the little things, like a starbucks red cup, or people giving to the poor because they are always more generous that time of year...

Such a sweet post :) This is such a nice time of a year, totally agree. Reminds me of everything i'm thankful for.
I love looking at all the lights! I love stepping outside of the house and driving around with no destination because everything looks SO magical. Great post! It is by far my most favorite time of the year.
Although I dread the hustle and bustle of preparing for the holidays I love the lights, the decorations and all the yummy baking! The gatherings with friends and family surely make this the most magical time of the year. xo
I love the traditions too and just reminiscing on old memories!!
I can't believe it's that time of year again, it came up so quickly! I too love the Christmas smells, family memories, and beautiful lights. I love the feelings and emotions it evokes. Just heavenly.
