It was a sad day... after running low on battery, I was getting up from the counter to plug Ms. Macbook in when I tripped and fell on the floor - throwing Mac a few feet to her death.
There were tears immediately.
Mac was a good companion at times. We've been through a lot the last 5 years. (Including a water spill across her keyboard right after I got her... but she survived)
Mac was a gift from my generous dad. I remember the July day when Mac was wrapped in Christmas paper in the middle of the family room where the Christmas tree would be during the holidays.
My dad jazzed her up with all the very best... which meant more to me than the actual computer. At least I have the fun memories of that night when I screamed loudly with surprise and saw the joy and excitement in my dad's eyes as he watched me unwrap.
So, I'll be patiently awaiting the mail man for the next few days. My very sweet husband spent a little over an hour on the phone trying to see about getting it fixed - but after finding out the cost to fix it, ended up just buying me a new computer. (I know, it's ridiculous how generous the people are in my life).
I'll be away from my blog for a few more days as I anxiously await the UPS guy and my sparkly new computer. It's bittersweet.
Macbook, you've been good to me. And thank you for being strong enough to protect your brain so I can keep all my pictures & documents.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Awww I would bawl if my macbook bit it, too. I have become way too attached in the last three years, ha!
Cute Post!
Ugh, that sucks. Our laptop bit it recently and we managed to keep it alive but it's barely living. It has to stay plugged in all the time and the battery won't charge. I want a macbook air so bad--one of the new ones. Hope your new one makes you just as happy!
Sorry about the Macbook. :( Boo. Glad you're getting a new one soon! It's always fun to get a new computer!!!
Such the sweet hearts you have in your family.

Oh no!!! I've had to deal with a lot of computer deaths. I think I'm cursed... and each one is a tug at my heart. I am so dependent on my technology...

I feel for you...my iBook feel to its sad death that exact same way a la my tripping over the cord, before they were the new magnetic ones they are now, flew and bounced a couple time! Oh my!
Mine was also a gift from my extraordinary and very generous dad, so our mac loves shared a lot in common! :)
I now have the new MacBook Pro and simply love it, but will always miss my first laptop! :) Good luck with the new one...and I hope you share lots of new memories together! ;)
