While I was sick, I finished up both books: The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo & The Girl Who Played With Fire! I am looking forward to reading the third book in the series, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest.
Both books were really good, the second one (Played With Fire) is more engaging and addictive. A lot of people told me they were a little challenging to get into at the beginning, and I would totally agree. Especially in the first one, there is a lot of history & character introductions, making it tough to follow -- but once you pass the first few chapters... it really gets fun to read.
The books take place in Sweden and the characters all have Swedish names (the last name of the main character is Blomkvist) but I got used to it as I kept reading!
The books do get a little graphic at times and can be somewhat scary, but if you can watch scary movies with out being offended, you should be okay with these!
I really enjoyed reading something a little different than what I am used to. Stieg Larsson is truly a captivating author with brilliant ideas to base a novel off of. I think the first two are definitely worth a read if you are looking for something. I can't wait to read the third one, but am waiting for it to come out in paperback.
Have you read the books? What did you think?
Right now, I am reading Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls (It's the sequel to The Glass Castle, which was really good).
Happy Sunday!!
The weather in Northern California is finally cooling down and fall is making its approach! Yay :)

I thought the first was one was WAY better than the other two. I loved them all though. So glad you enjoyed them.
Okay so The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is absolutely next on my list. I have bought it and it is sitting on my bookshelf waiting for me to finish the Hunger Game series so I can pick it up! Glad to hear you love the series so far, cause I've been anxious hearing everyone say it's hard to get into at first.
If you're looking for another series, I've heard the Hunger Games are good. A little disturbing, but a good read nonetheless. Enjoy your books!
I still haven't read them but this makes me want to even more!

I haven't read them, but everyone says I need to! Though it's hard for me to buy them when everyone says it takes half the book to get into it. I was always thinking, why slog through it? But I think I'm getting convinced. :)
I read the first two books and I can't wait to read the third!
Loved them! I am waiting on the soft cover version too... the guy at Barnes and Noble told me it wouldn't be made until the spring! UGH!
I've read the first two and am hoping to find time to read the third one first. I loved them. The movies were really good too, although they didn't go in to as much detail as the books...but that's the way it usually goes with books made in to movies.
I'm hoping to read The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo soon. I'm having a heckuva time figuring out how to fit in more pleasure reading while in the throws of toddler land. : )
sounds good! am about to see if they are available on my "nook" right now!
currently re-reading The Enchanted April... (great flick too!)
loving your blog!
