Diaper Cakes Galore

With so many great people we know having babies this year, my mom, sisters and I got down to business making cakes... diaper cakes!
They are so fun to make.  The best part is shopping for all the cute stuff to put on it.  (Especially when mom already has a theme she wants for the room)  I got lucky shopping this year, because all the baby stores had their themes!
Here are a few we made already this summer!
Frog themed cake for good friend, Jenny!  Love the green for her little boy.
Car themed cake for cousin Paula...  baby Evan is due in August!
Monkey themed cake for cousin Anna... Baby G is due next month!

They are so fun and pretty easy to make.  I have been doing them now for about 2 years, but only made about 5 or 6.  If you ever need tips, let me know :)

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend.
My girlfriend, Amanda, is getting married tonight!  Can't wait to see her all dressed in white :)

Thankful Thursday

Wow, it's been forever since I have blogged about what I am thankful for
(even though I think about it everyday!)

Here's part of my list this week...

I'm thankful for our new home... it's really coming together, and we love it!  We are getting a few more things settled, then I will post some pics!!

I am thankful to have a home that we want to entertain & have friends and family over.  I think it's the best part of having a place! I heard a quote that I love "may the ornaments of your home be the family & friends who frequent it."  So true!

I'm thankful for my dad... he did a lot of the hard work with moving in.

I'm thankful for my husband - every single day he makes me laugh, and everyday I hear several times that I am loved.

I'm thankful for my sweet family... we are so lucky!

I am thankful for Crepeville.  It's a new restaurant a co-worker told me I had to try... and it's almost as good as my favorite restaurant "Squat & Gobble" in SF!

I'm thankful for my friends... because they are truly the greatest! :)

I'm thankful to have people who read my blog - even after my major lack of writing the last few months. It means a lot!

Hope you have a fabulous Thursday.
We are having a few good friends over tonight for dinner!!
Always remember what you are thankful for :)

Old friends & weddings

Gina made an absolutely beautiful bride.  I don't have any pictures of her in her dress... yet... but I will post some as soon as I get some!

It was a very fun day!  One of the best parts of the day (besides watching 2 people I have known for more than 10 years get married) was seeing so many old friends from high school and elementary school!

It was our own little reunion, and it felt great.  I didn't get to spend a lot of time with them at my wedding, so it was nice to catch up a little here. :)

TL and I had a great time dancing the night away... it was very fun!

Here is G with her hair and make-up done... isn't she stunning?!
And here is a picture of my friend Kaitlyn and I in the limo on the way to the hall.  (We've known each other since 2nd grade!)
I'll post more pictures soon!
Happy Sunday... hope you had a great weekend!

Back online!

Things are finally settling in... and Comcast came today... FINALLY internet! :)  I can blog and be online connected with the world again!  I've missed reading your blogs, but it's probably good that I had the week to unpack and decorate with out distraction.  I will post some pictures soon, but things still aren't quite ready ;)

Hope you are enjoying your Friday and have fun weekend plans.  My best friend from elementary school, Gina, is getting married tomorrow, and I am so honored and excited to be in her wedding!  It should be a great time.  I'll share pictures soon!
Have a fabulous weekend!!
This is G and I... she was in my wedding, too!

Getting Settled

You all had great tips for moving... and I followed your advice.  I labeled everything & made sure to be specific :)  We had a great move, tiring, but overall, things went pretty smoothly!  We had my dad, sister, and cousins to help and also hired movers. (thankfully)
We spent our first night in the house last night - and it was a wonderful feeling.
I am most excited about the memories we are going to make in this home.  I see it as the place we will take our babies home from the hospital (someday) and a place where we have lots of family & friends over.  It's amazing what four walls can do for you - how it becomes a home, a comfortable spot for you.  TL and I feel so blessed & lucky to have such a wonderful place to live and continue our lives together!
When we first were looking at homes (it was a pretty long process) I remember walking into ours now and feeling so much love.  The previous owner took incredible care of it - the carpet, walls, floors - everything, he loved his home.  (He also built and designed it!)
When we looked at it originally, I could picture tiny shoes lined across the laundry room floor, bikes and a basketball hoop in the the front yard, and the buzz of people talking and laughing.  It just has a great feel to it.  We are so excited!
Here are a few pictures from the move:
I labeled, labeled, labeled!
My dad & TL in the garage after the first load.
The keys!
Very confused pups... but they're settling in now!
At the front door of our new home!

It is definitely a work in progress... but we have gotten so much done!  We got some new stuff, and I am so excited about it all.  I will post some pictures as soon as we get more things unpacked!

Hope you have a fabulous 4th of July weekend!
Be safe!!
