Natural Disasters

After the horrible earthquakes in Chile & Haiti - I have been thinking about natural disasters and how dangerous they are.  Are we prepared for one if it comes?  I had a teacher in college that said "the big one" is coming - especially to California!
I only remember being in one earthquake.  It was in college and I was spending time with my girlfriends.  It was a small one - I think 3.5 - and it still felt pretty big.  I can't imagine how scary these big quakes are - 8.8!
In California, we are pretty lucky.  We don't face the big time flooding every year, or tornadoes & hurricanes like so many other parts of this country.  But... we do have a big risk of being caught in an earthquake.
This is kind of a downer post, but I can't help thinking about natural disasters & how quickly they can alter our life.

On another note... I am excited to blog about DWTS, & our Napa trip.  Hopefully I can get to that in the next few days.  It's rainy & dark outside... but I kind of like it :)
I hope everyone is having a fabulous Tuesday!!

I think about it every time I go on the freeway like today. I was up so high on the overpass and was wondering what would happen if... and when I'm stuck under an overpass. I can't let fear stop me though but I am not nearly prepared at home as I should be. I feel something is headed our way, don't you?

I totally have CA earthquake fear. I try not to think about it too hard... but I guess every place has its disadvantages. When I was about 13 and in Pensylvania Amish country, an old blind Amish man told me that Californians can't handle a little thunderstorm, but the rest of the country is convinced we're going to crack off into the ocean!

I can only say it's good that there hasn't been a bad one here in a long time. What happened in Chile and Haiti was just awful.

I am right there with you on the whole fear thing. In fact, my dad sent me an email today about it...I should post it on my blog. Make sure to check back on my page and read it. Its very frightening.

Cant wait to hear about your Napa trip and see pics. xo

My family and BK has been talking to me a lot about earthquakes and what to do during one too. At least these other events will help prepare us to an extent! I can't wait to see pictures of your trips, I hope you are doing well Tracy! :)

about earthquake, it was pretty big, we never think it was so big, after we saw some photos of the broken road, it was just like the movie 2012. you just need to be prepared and have faith in God. :)
