Candice Bushnell

This week, I had the opportunity to meet
Candice Bushnell,
who is most famously known as the writer behind the creation of the famous friends (and my favorite)

Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha.

In some people's eyes, Bushnell is Bradshaw herself.  Nevermind the coincidence that they have the same initials. :)

Bushnell is also a famous and well-known writer of several other books.

Meeting her was a pleasure, and I had this opportunity because of a fabulous series called Newsmakers: Lesher Speaker Series.  Each season, the series picks a variety of speakers to enlighten and entertain in the East Bay of CA - and Bushnell did just that!  Each speaker has a non-profit organization to partner up with and for Bushnell, she was appropriately partnered up with the East Bay Junior League.  (TL's inspiring cousin, Mackenzie, is the president-elect of the organization)  The women from the Junior League held a party at an adorable shoe store called Footcandy in Walnut Creek. 10 percent of every purchase at Footcandy went to charity.  While we were at Footcandy "helping charity" (buying shoes), Bushnell joined us before her lecture.

It was a wonderful event!  Bushnell had a lot to say - and I came away from the evening feeling the closest I have ever felt to a series I love so much... and not to mention 2 new great pairs of shoes!!  (more on that soon)
