Honeymoon: Rome, Italy

Rome, Italy
was the next stop on our European adventure :)

Rome is beautiful and full of so much history.
On the cruise ship we were on, you could choose different excursions to go on at the different ports.  The excursions can be expensive, so TL and I decided to just do excursions in Rome and Florence.  We went to the Roman Coliseum, The Trevi Fountain, St. Peters Basilica, The Vatican, & The Sistine Chapel.  There was so much to see and so much to learn.
My favorite in Rome was the painted ceiling of The Sistine Chapel.  It was incredible!

The Roman Coliseum... this thing is so old, it's hard to believe it is still standing!
The Trevi Fountain... incredible!
We were pretty stoked about a big yummy Italian lunch!! mmmm...
Such a tourist...
Where the Pope lives.
The ceiling of the Vatican.  Beautiful & overwhelming!
Outside St. Peter's Basilica.
This one was taken from our cruise ship, and I loved it!

Rome was gorgeous.  My cousin Greyson lived there for a year and I heard so much about it.   I was so excited to see it!

I <3 Italy.

The Vatican was one of my favorite places, and I'm not Catholic, but just felt so close to God there.

After living in Dallas, I guess I was expecting Texas Stadium @ the Coliseum. At first I was taken aback at how small it seemed - but add in it's history, and that it is still standing so beautifully - it was awesome!

Lovely People, History, Art, Leather, Gold, Good Wine, and Good Food - What's not to Love?

I am going to return soon!
