Honeymoon: Mediterranean Cruise

Voyager Of The Seas
The next stop on our honeymoon was right out of the ports of Barcelona. We jumped on a cruise that took us around the Mediterranean for 7 nights... it was beautiful! (I'll tell you where we went in the next few posts!)
TL's mom used her credit card points and got us a Junior Suite on the top deck. I have never stayed high up with a balcony before, so we ended up staying in our room a lot looking over the balcony.

Our room had a walk-in closet!! So of course, I had to take a picture ;)
Cocktails and a beautiful view... we were so happy!
Our room!
There were CRAZY thunder and lightening storms over night for a few of the nights. I have never seen lightening so bright and the thunder was rattling the entire sky. It kept us awake, but we loved it - it was stunning! Good news, it never rained on us during the day!
This was the largest cruise ship both of us have ever been on. It had an ice skating rink, and and mini golf course - we played a little mini golf, I lost.
This was the craziest point of the entire cruise. A helicopter had to land on our ship to pick up a person who was ill! Our captain actually had to turn the entire ship around and go back closer to the port. They sent a rescue boat out from France, and when that wasn't enough, they sent the helicopter. You can see it if you look just below the big white ball - its red. It was really cool to watch, even though it took 2 hours and I hope the guy was okay.

The cruise was really nice for the food - we ate a ton at every meal! It was also nice to stay in one place for 7 nights with all of the moving around we did. It was so much fun!

OMG! One of my bridesmaids is here (watching Grey's, obvi) and I just realized you and her were on the same cruise! She went to Spain right after the wedding and then the next week left for the cruise out of Barcelona! She said a helicopter landed on her boat! Small world!

So fun - I love cruises with the right cruise line. There is nothing like being out on the boat surrounded in every direction by the sea. We did a 14 night Mediterranean cruise last fall and it by far was the best trip we've taken. Looking at your pictures makes me want to go back immediately.

Some people that were on our boat just kept staying for the next two weeks, and the following - had been out there for 6+weeks. Can you imagine?

Glad you had so much fun. :)
