Wishful Wednesdays

Kelsey from The Seattle Smiths started this new thing called "Wishful Wendesdays". Every week she is going to post a new topic and we are to fill it out! This week, her topic is this:
"'I wish'... I could go back in time and change one decision I made,
and it would be ____!"

I wish I could go back in time and change the decision of lying to my second grade teacher that I wore glasses!! My family LOVES to tell this story and humiliate me (I think its funny too). So, I will quickly share. I remember there was this kid in my class, his name was Aaron, and he wore glasses to see the board. My teacher would always tell him to put on his glasses during class time, and I got envious of all this "extra attention" (gag!) that he was getting. So, I went home after a few weeks, and realized my sister Juju would never know if I stole her reading glasses. I brought them into class and told my teacher I now had them. My plan worked perfectly, until... my mom came to open house and told my teacher that she was taking me to the eye doctor and getting my eyes checked because I had been complaining I couldn't see the board (previous to stealing her glasses) and my teacher looked at my mom and said... "well, she's wearing her glasses." I was caught. Red handed. And the worst part... the glasses hurt my eyes!!

Oooo I can relate. I use to think that glasses were the best fashion accessory ever (I was in grade 4) so I fakes having bad eyes for the eye doctor. For real- I purposely misread the eye chart and got myself the most horrid pink framed 1990's style glasses. Every time I wore them I felt like I was going to be sick.

The things we do... great post, put a smile on my face!

That's such a cute thing to do for the teacher's love! I'd crack up if one of my kids did something like that.

Awww... that is the cutest story! I was always the blind kid in class. I couldn't see my papers so I would hold them up. I found out later that I was giving away test answers because I would hold up my test papers. I'm still blind as a bat. I'd like to get Lasik but I'm afraid I'd be the 1% that has something go wrong.

I totally went through the glasses stage too! I would complain, try to fake the drs test etc just begging to get glasses "because everyone else had them!"

I didn't need them back then but overtime my vision changed and now it is horrible and I am forced to wear contacts/glasses just to get out of bed! blah!

Thanks for sharing your cute story!
