Exciting Times
Last night I had a dream about our up-coming wedding, and I woke up SO excited. The big day is a little over 4 months away, and as it gets closer, I get more and more excited! I cannot wait to see TL when I am walking down the isle to him. I think that must be the one thing I am so excited about. I am excited to see his face - and I am so excited for our first kiss :) I am giddy just writing this! I know there is nothing you can do to prepare yourself for this lifelong commitment, and listening to others I have heard marriage can be quite challenging at times, but I am so ready for it. It will all be worth it.
I am also so excited for the dress I am wearing - its a surprise! My beautiful bridesmaids and just seeing ALL of our closest family and friends in one place at one time. It will be so special! We are so lucky.
I need to find some outfits for the upcoming fun things going on. Summer is almost here, which means... fun outfits! Next weekend is my first bridal shower that my soon to be mother in law is throwing for me and her friends and my bridesmaids & family. We are taking our engagement photos on the first weekend in June in San Francisco... what do i wear?
I am so blessed, and so excited for the upcoming events.
PLUS... my sisters baby is due in 2 DAYS! Baby Ryan... making is first appearance, hopefully very soon. I can't wait to meet him. Our family is truly so lucky to have all of these amazing & life changing events happening. Ill keep you posted on all of them! :)

ahh, relief!
You know that feeling of being sick for a few days and constantly feeling horrible? That was me. (notice the lag on blogging) I have this huge feeling of relief now because I feel a million times better. ahhh. It is my weekend right now off of work, and Tim is off today, so we are going to go out and run errands and take our lazy puppies for a walk. I must mention they always pose for their pictures. I hope you are having a fantastic Thursday! :)

my city, my heart

I love the hills of San Francisco. I think its a beautiful city because it has so many dynamics. I think it is a city that is completely under the radar. I love being back because I have such a history there. I am so excited for this visit after being in NYC. It just has a different feel to me. So excited to see my girlfriends again, go to some yummy restaurants, and just be in the city. Hope you are having a good week!

The Burger Blog
Recently, One of my friends at work was talking about how much he loves burgers, and how he takes pictures of them and thinks its fun to tell people about his favorites. So, I encouraged him to get his very own BURGER BLOG! Here is the link. Go visit it, and give him a little encouragement :) He is one of those funny guys that loves to eat!
Happy Birthday, Kel.

NYC dining Adventures
We ate out every meal while we were in NYC. I was able to get a few pictures to remember where we ate or had drinks!
One of our ALL time favorite places that is a MUST go is called Madison & Vine. It is in Midtown & is extremely fabulous. We made really great friends with the bartender, Mike, and he basically shared his entire life story with us. We were there 4 hours. The ambiance is very cool, and it feels kind of secretive. These aren't my pictures.

Another place we went was this funky Italian place our last night in the city. It's called Bocca di Bacco and it was really yummy! There was over 400 different wines - and the salads and gnocchi was incredible!
We also ate at a sushi place called Haru Sushi... which couldn't even touch the famous Mikuni Sushi here in Sacramento. We were planning on going to Sushi Samba (where Samantha throws the drink on Richard) but that was the day we experienced all of our craziness. I got a lot of really great suggestions from people who read my blog, and we were able to try out a few... so thank you! :)
Happy Easter
I hope you have a fabulous day!
Beautiful weather here in the Sacramento Valley...
spending time with the family - hope you are too.

The Big Apple
Of course... my crazy new york story is only one memory of that trip. We had an amazing time before all of the chaos. One of the things we did was take a SATC tour. It was amazing. Here are some pictures:
Steve & Aidan's Bar "Scout"

"You Ruined Us." (Miranda to Steve)
"its the last single girl kiss."

"Shut Up Dick Wad, I'm Speaking."

"Get Me Out Of Here."

TL thinks I need to join a SATC Addicts Anonymous help group. Maybe it is true. I have an unhealthy addiction. And I have my friends to thank for it!

Wiener Dog Self Portrait

My sister cruises the blogs on my site - and one of them, the wiener dog blog is her favorite to check up on. We think this picture is hilarious! They totally think they're big dogs.

A great day!
Today is my Birthday - a young 22 years old today - I can't believe it. In many ways I feel much older. Today has been a wonderful day. Birthdays are always a great time to look around and see how much I have to be thankful for. My family, friends, and TL have been absolutely amazing today, just as they are every day. I am so fortunate to have a beautiful healthy family, friends that are just as special as family, and a spectacular fiance who takes care of me and loves me unconditionally. This every day realization has been the best part of my day. :)

Other than being extremely thankful, I have really loved the cards, phone calls, emails and messages. In fact, just while writing this, I got a card in the mail from one of my dear friends, Michelle. It just warms my heart that people remember. I had to work early this morning. Currently, I work for Good Day Sacramento. If you haven't seen the show, it is quite laid back, and a very entertainment based 5.5 hour show. Of course, they took the time to completely embarrass me on the air - but it was quite fun. My wonderful CoWorkers Carlene & Heather- made the morning very special. Heather made a homemade chocolate cake and came in on her day off to bring it to me. Carlene and her both got me thoughtful gifts, and made it a very special day for me! :) My very loving friend Kelly, also wrote a blog to me. love you, kel.
After work, I came home to a beautiful homemade breakfast - made especially the way I love it. TL is really good at surprises. The kitchen was filled with balloons and a large boquet of flowers. So thoughtful. I love him. He also got me a wonderful Bday gift while we were in NYC - Ill blog about that soon! :)
Tonight I am going to dinner with my family - what a wonderful Birthday. I am so fortunate.

NYC craziness!
Let me just start by saying that NYC was amazing! TL and I had such a wonderful time, and we were so fortunate to be able to go together and make memories in the city we believe is "SF on steroids". We had a series of unfortunate events that led us to some of the good people who still exist in this world. I will be blogging more about the trip and the places we were able to visit in a following post, but thought it would be more interesting for you all to hear about our crazy experience. You have to read the whole story, it has a good ending, I promise!
It all started on Sunday, April 5th at around 3PM when we were getting ready to switch hotels. (For some reason, TL and I feel its necessary to make our way around the city and where we stay). We were gathering all of our luggage - our most important piece being TL's backpack which was holding the following: my Louis Vuitton wallet that TL got me last year for graduation - which was holding all 5 of my credit cards, some cash, my ID, and other important 'wallet' stuff we all carry, including several gift cards I received from Christmas- It also had our brand spankin' new Canon Rebel xsi digital camera (which isn't cheap) and the extra lense TL bought for more zoom , there was $600 in Visa gift cards for us to use on our trip, and TL's ipod and headphones. So pretty much, it was a jackpot for any criminal.
As we went through the chaos of placing all of our stuff in the back of the cab and taking a trip across the city to our new hotel called the Park Central, TL and I chatted a bit with the taxi driver. We were really looking forward to taking a walk through central park after we settled in at the new place. After checking in, we got settled in our new room and I asked TL for the SATC tour guide that we had taken that morning. It had some fun dinner spots in it, so I was trying to plan somewhere to eat after our walk. He asked me where his backpack was, and I didn't know either. Panic. Complete Panic.
I ran down to the lobby before we could say another word. I looked where we checked in and began asking around seeing if anyone had seen it. I was chatting with the folks at the front desk when TL came down and joined me. He was shocked. He has never left anything on a cab or in a lobby- especially something we both have been so protective over since getting there.
So, as the night progressed we decided we were going to catch an early flight home. The gift cards in there were supposed to pay the bill for the hotel the next few nights, and to be honest, neither of us were in the mood for spending any money on eating out after losing so much. So, TL got on the phone and changed our flights to the next morning at 11. I went down and talked to the guys at the hotel to see if we could get out of the charges of leaving before we were supposed to. We did.
That night, TL and I went out and grabbed some food and hoped something would happen. We worked with the hotel security to look at cameras to see if someone had grabbed it while we weren't looking - or if he had even walked in with the backpack. At this point, he didn't know if he left it in the cab, or if it was stolen.
So - the next morning, we take our $50 and 45 minute cab ride to JFK. We were both still sick about losing the backpack, and beginning to get more and more hopeless.
Let me ask you this... have you ever tried to get through airport security with out an ID? Hell. Honestly. I was taken aside, searched, asked millions of questions, and had to answer a series of extremely personal questions before someone would let me through. If you ever want to get completely evaluated on every aspect of your life, try to get through airport security with out your ID. It sucks.
We boarded our 11AM flight, and just as we were sitting down and getting ready to turn off our cell phones, TL's phone rings. He picks it up and all I hear is "You have my backpack????". My heart started racing and he motioned to me to go with him. We got off the plane just as they were about to shut the door. It was like a movie. I had so many emotions. Happiness, curiosity, and a little bit of doubt that everything would be in that backpack.
So after some convincing with the people at United Airlines, we were able to just go standby until they could fit us on another flight. We grabbed another $50 cab ride back into Manhattan,- did I mention it was dumping rain through all of this? - and met the CAB DRIVER in front of the hotel we had just checked out of. Our CAB DRIVER. He was on his day off, and he drove over from Brooklyn in his personal car to give it to us. TL opened it and it had EVERYTHING. We couldn't believe it. TL gave the guy $100 bucks and we both hugged him. Guess what, there are good people in the world - contrary to what you may believe!
We took yet another $50 cab ride back to JFK (the hotel paid for it, thats another long part of the story) and sat stand by in the JFK airport for over 12 hours with out any complaint. We had our backpack. Our luggage made it to SF almost a full day before we did - but we had the most important piece of it all!
You know the most amaing thing I learned from this? TL and I can get through almost anything. When he was so upset with himself, for the first time in my life I realized I cared about his complete happiness than my own. I wanted to find it just because I knew it made him so upset. We got through all of this craziness together - and talked each other through it all. There was no bickering, or blaming - we even laughed together about the whole thing. I love him more than anything in the world.
This is it... The Backpack from hell (thats our joke)
